I enjoy following The Sartorialist, a photography and style blog/website by Scott Schuman. Be sure to check out the Vintage Photos page. Brilliant stuff.
When our children look back at us, will we epitomize our era? Will we learn the art of living well and dressing well, so we can properly take our place in history and the family photo albums? Whether we like it or not, our descendants take some of their identity from us and how we've lived. Let's dress the part.

Ah, Scott Schumann! His blog is a permanent fixture on my Bookmark Bar :) His is a unique perspective in the world of fashion bloggers. There's a timelessness about his photos, perhaps because he is capturing today's aesthetic "as it really is" rather than focusing on the current trends. One gets the sense that he is in part documenting for posterity.
ReplyDeleteHave you seen this mini-documentary on his work? Beautifully concise. http://vimeo.com/19223989
Also, have you watched "The September Issue"? (If you haven't it's on Instant Play on Netflix.) It was such a fascinating glimpse into the industry and, particularly, into the life of the enigma that is Anna Wintour.
